Siddha Kunjika Stotram Meaning: The Secret Mantra That Unlocks the Power of Durga Saptashati

Siddha Kunjika Stotram is the decoded form of the universe's birth and life's existence. It is the key formula for the universe's birth and sustainability, mentioned in the Markandeya Purana, also known as the Sri Durga Saptashati.

The Siddha Kunjika Stotram is regarded in the sacred tradition of Shakti worship as a mystical key that unlocks the divine power behind the creation and sustenance of the universe. This powerful hymn is mentioned in the Markandeya Purana, within the revered Sri Durga Saptashati, where it is described as the hidden formula that activates the spiritual essence of the scripture.

The word Siddha means “perfect or accomplished,” while Kunjika refers to a “secret key or hidden passage.” According to Rudrayamala Tantra, Lord Shiva revealed the Siddha Kunjika Stotram to Goddess Parvati, the Purna Swarup of Adishakti, when she asked him to disclose the secret power behind the origin and operation of the universe.

Lord Shiva reciting Siddha Kunjika Stotram to Devi Parvati

Lord Shiva took Devi Parvati to a secret location in Mount Kailash and said, “Devi! It is you from whom this universe originated, your aspects that operate and sustain it, and by your will, when the time comes, you perish the universe.”

Devi Parvati was surprised as she could not remember her primordial form- Adi Para Shakti, who is beyond everything, only she exists before and after the universe perishes.

Adishakti is also called Amba, the mother of the Tridev: Brahma (time), Mahavishnu (space), and Shiva (matter).

Seeing Devi Parvati's astonishment and curiosity, Lord Shiva smiled and began reciting the secret code of the universe, which he called the Siddha Kunjika Stotram.

Lord Shiva said –
